Smile - Staff Selfie Challenge!!!
We asked Woodland staff members to send in happy moments throughout the month of May to capture the last few weeks of school.
From Ms. Castrejón:
"I graduated with my master’s degree and taught my students what that looks like, and how they can do it too. I shared my story of growing up with parents who didn’t have this opportunity, and reminded them that every step forward is also for them. Some even wore my robe and held my diploma because one day, it’ll be theirs."
"Me gradué con mi maestría y les enseñé a mis estudiantes cómo se ve este logro y cómo ellos también pueden llegar ahí. Les compartí mi historia de crecer con padres que no tuvieron esta oportunidad, y les recordé que cada paso que doy también es por ellos. Algunos hasta usaron mi toga y sostuvieron mi diploma porque un día, será el de ellos."
Thank you to Ms. Castrejón for sharing this inspirational story, AND congratulations on your achievement! #LifeintheW

7th grade Wildcats participated in Jr Achievement town this week!
They were given a career and a corresponding salary, then walked around town and made decisions about their new lives. Decisions from housing and transportation, to education and retirement, and even clothing and entertainment. Through this town students were able to learn the value of budgeting within their means and what it means to take care of themselves independently.
Thank you to our volunteers, staff, and parent volunteers for all your hard work in making this event possible!
