The excitement for Winter Break was building throughout the day at WMS!
The Winter Parties at Intermediate had plenty of good cheer, silly games, creative crafts, and energetic party helpers! #LifeintheW
Dual Language Students in Ms. Hoy's class recently went on a field trip to see a movie in Spanish. When they returned to school, they did a class activity exploring culture, making connections back to the movie, and talking about overcoming challenges and reaching your full potential. The finished product is a culture tree that represents all the students in the class! #LifeintheW

The Annual Holiday Food Drive was a HUGE success!
Thank you to everyone who volunteered, brought in non-perishable food, contributed with a financial donation, or supported the food drive in some other way over the past few weeks. With your generosity, we were able to support 82 Woodland families with extra food, warmth, and resources to help them through the holidays and winter break. There were multiple food drive competitions and fundraising events across the district, and the result was a pop-up food pantry for families to shop for their needs in a warm and welcoming environment. There are many different reasons why someone may need additional support this time of year, and you helped lift up your friends and neighbors with your contributions. Here are a few photos of our AMAZING volunteers, including student volunteers from both Woodland and Warren Township High School, setting up for the event. #LifeintheW
Look who stopped by Ms. Rubino's class to help cook English Muffin Pizzas! Special guest chefs Mrs. Drake and Officer Hansen. #LifeintheW
Reading Relay at the Middle School Today!
The students have formed 39 teams, and 225 students are participating. They have to take turns reading for 20 minutes at their team table to keep their chair hot ALL DAY. The teams decorated their tables in themes, and the stacks of books you see are donations to Bernie's Book Bank.
Elementary Shop with an Educator Event
Thank you to the Woodland Elementary and Transportation staff members who volunteered at the Shop with an Educator event on Wednesday evening. Many district families came to shop for the Annual Holiday Food Drive on the final night of collections. The students were so excited to pick out items that were needed from the Food Drive wish list. Thanks to your generosity, we will be able to stock Woodland's Pop-Up Food Pantry and provide extra support to district families over the winter break!
We had a ROARific assembly today! It featured the Cheerleaders, Poms, Flags, Jazz Band, student challenges, staff challenges and concluded with the 8th grade basketball teams playing each other. Academic and interscholastic successes were acknowledge as well.
