There was a 3rd Grade Pep Parade at Woodland Elementary today! The 3rd grade students are scheduled to take the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) exams next week and the whole school came out to cheer them on. 1st and 2nd grade classmates created signs and lined the parade route to wish them well and to encourage them to do their best. The 3rd graders had huge smiles on their faces as they danced and celebrated along the path of adoring (and adorable) fans. #LifeintheW

On Thursday in Mrs. Schumann's 1st Grade Dual Language English class, the students learned about this special day that happens every 4 years - Leap Day! We first read a passage and answered questions to generate some background knowledge for everyone. Then, the class participated in an Escape Room activity in groups by completing 5 "key" questions needed to "break out!" What a fun way to learn!
We had to see about some LEAPing 1st graders this morning! Watch as these Wildcats LEAP into March as part of their jump rope unit in P.E. 💚
P.E. Teachers: Mr. Lees & Ms. Campbell
Classroom Teachers: Ms. Santos & Mrs. Haevers
