Important Information from Woodland D50

Dear Elementary Families,

This afternoon we discovered a water main break on our Elementary school property that temporarily disrupted normal operations. Fortunately this event happened late in the school day and the majority of students had already completed lunch; we were able to provide bottled water to students for the final lunch period. Multiple restrooms on the east side of the school remain operational. We determined that it was not necessary to relocate our students for such a short period of time before dismissal, but I wanted to share this update with you to let you know about the events of this afternoon.

Our Operations & Facilities team jumped into action, and we already have the Lake County Public Works department on site to determine the best course of action for repair. We hope to have a quick resolution; the district will provide additional updates if it appears that this event may have implications for our return to school on Monday.

This water main issue  WILL NOT disrupt parent pick-up procedures at Elementary, though we do appreciate some extra patience. Repair trucks may be visible but we will guide families and students through the parent pick-up line as needed.

Thank you in advance for your patience as we work to resolve this issue,

Jared Reardon
Principal
