Mrs. Rejczyk's 4th Grade Advanced Language Arts Class had an excellent book discussion today. They are just finishing up their first book study of The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Kate DiCamillo. The story is about a beloved toy rabbit who is lost at sea, and the students loved sharing their favorite parts of the adventure that followed. The students also picked up on Edward Tulane's personal journey and how his character developed and changed over time. Great job!
Learning all about APPLES 🍏🍎 on Johnny Appleseed Day at Elementary! Students rotated through four neighboring classrooms to participate in different apple themed activities. #LifeintheW
First graders read a story called The Blackout by John Rocco (for English Language Arts), and then used flashlights to do their work in the dark. They even took their flashlights to the library where they read another book by the same author, and used their flashlights to search for books and explore the library. #LifeintheW
The WMS Marching Band preformed at the Annual Fill the Drum event last night, and they did great! They came out ROARING to Katy Perry's "ROAR", and finished with the ever popular "YMCA". Thank you to everyone who joined us for a fun evening at Warren's football field to cheer on the WMS Marching Wildcats, and other local band students from the D56 Viking Band, Warren's Football Band, and Warren's Competition Band! Event attendees helped us "Fill the Drum" with more than $4,000 in donations to send relief to the victims of the Hawaii wildfires.

The Woodland Technology Team is made up of dedicated employees who are always working behind the scenes to make sure our staff has the technology they need to support our students, and that our students have the technology they need to be successful learners. It takes a special set of skills to be an IT professional, and we appreciate their hard work to make sure our network is safe, secure, and running at optimal levels. To the entire Woodland Technology Team, thank you for your service to our learning community! Your hard work is what allows us to stay connected, figuratively and literally. #LifeintheW
The students in Ms. Barton's class love playing with Playdoh, so they decided to make their own! Everyone pitched in to make the dough as they worked on making measurements and taking turns.

Music in the W! Woodland Intermediate students walked into Music class and couldn't wait to make music on these big colorful drums. They worked on a two-part beat to a Swahili greeting song from Kenya called "Jambo Bwana". They were excited to hear a phrase they were familiar with in the song: "Hakuna Matata" = "No Worries"
Kindergarten students rocking those MAP tests! Great job kiddos. #LifeintheW
Honoring those who lost their lives and the heroes who responded by teaching this history to our students who weren't born yet. Pictured here are students in Mr. Lakemacher's class making remembrance posters and reflecting on the tragic events that we promised to Never Forget. Today we remember the innocent lives lost, and the many lives that were forever changed on Sept. 11, 2001.
Who's ready for a Wildcat Workout?
The outside lane is for scooters, and the inside lane is for running, jumping, skipping, or galloping around the track. The middle of the gym is for hula hoops, jump ropes, or dancing. After the workout, these Kindergarten students were going to learn a new game called Crossing the Ocean. A great way to get the wiggles out while learning how to keep our bodies active. #LifeintheW
During a visit to Mrs. Hansen's 1st grade class for morning meeting, Ms. Blasius thinks she might know the answer to the Joke of the Day!
What do cows like to do on the weekends?
