Where: Woodland Middle School, 7000 W. Washington St., Gurnee, IL - Cafeteria A, enter through B2 doors
On Saturday, February 22 join us at Woodland as we celebrate Black History Month! This event will honor and celebrate the rich history, culture, and contributions of the Black community--not only at our school, but also in the community, country, and the world.
Our celebration will include:
Musical performances from Woodland’s Kindergarten Class & the Woodland Elementary Choir
Musical performance from Yolanda Brooks, founder of ARIZE Beyond School of Music
Dance performance from Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated; Nu Lambda Sigma Chapter Step Show
Dance performance from Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated and the ZYA Youth Groups
Spoken word performance from poet Sharon Epps
Black Dads Rock! Discussion Panel
Additionally, there will be family-friendly crafts and art projects, and Woodland’s Art Show followed by the announcement of the contest winners.
This event is open to ALL Woodland families.
