Flyer for the Achievement Town

When: Wednesday, January 8th & Thursday, January 9th

Time: 9:45 a.m. - 2:50 p.m.

Where: Woodland Middle School

What: What is Jr. Achievement Town?

Middle school students will have the opportunity to become adults for the day! They will be assigned a career, the required level of education needed for that career path, and the corresponding salary. As a newly graduated “adult,” they will walk around the “town” and have to make real-life decisions pertaining to housing, transportation, insurance, food and essentials, & more!

Through this “town” students will learn the value of education, the importance of budgeting and living within their means, as well as how to live independently, to take care of themselves and be involved in their community.

Students will learn about:

  • Savings and Retirement

  • Housing & Insurance

  • Transportation

  • Food Budget

  • Clothing Budget

  • Education

  • Entertainment Budget

  • Charitable Giving

  • Self-Care

  • & More!

Parent and Community Volunteers are needed!
Your job would be to engage students in critical thinking to help them make the best use of their “funds,” and help them understand the benefits of budgeting and education. Sign up now to be a part of this impactful and fun learning experience!

NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. All supplies and information will be given to you at the station that you sign up for. In addition, there will be event coordinators that will go through the supplies at your station and a description of what is expected.
